I’m new to this process but catching on quickly. It helps that the grains I received responded after the fist batch. I hear that it can sometimes take more time and batches. I could not be more pleased with the results. The results. Thank you. .
I received my grains in the mail on a Tuesday and immediately put them in 3/4 cup of milk to start waking them up. I strained them and added fresh milk every 24 hours. The milk stayed pretty thin for about 4 days but then began to thicken gradually each day. At the 1 week mark I increased to 1 cup of milk. At the 10 day mark the grains have now doubled and I’m using 2 cups of milk that is producing thick, delicious kefir in 24 hours. I don’t have a source for raw milk so I am using Alexandre Family Farms organic vat pasteurized (lower temperature). Thank you Yemoos!
