Product: You will receive 1 healthy thick Jun Scoby immersed in approximately 1 cup of starter tea (which you will need for your 1st batch). Enough for a half-gallon batch.
Different from kombucha scobys. Our Jun scobys are grown with green tea and local raw honey. It’s more of a lactic acid ferment instead of acidic acid ferment that kombucha produces. A shorter ferment than kombucha, less alcohol and generally considered more pleasant tasting.
You will also receive:
- A double-sided card that will give simple step-by-step instructions on how to successfully make Jun Tea.
- A Jun adoption card to welcome the new addition to the family.
- Detailed picture instructions are sent with notification of shipment, to give you time to prepare for necessary supplies and ingredients!
Yield: Jun scoby size and starter tea is designed for a half-gallon size brew for the 1st batch. But it can also work great with even larger sizes, such as a gallon.
Shipping: Shipping starts at $3.15. Expedited shipping available.
Will ship within 2 business days.
- We now ship live jun scobys internationally.
Scoby is healthy and making Jun
This is one strong, healthy, happy scoby with a soft color that's actually kind of pretty. Shipped super fast and expertly packaged in starter tea in a sealed bag. Arrived in perfect condition complete with detailed instructions and an adoption card where you can give it a name. I named mine Obi-Wan The Scoby! Being but a novice (Padawan?) at brewing, I am looking foreward to working with this amazing organism while learning how to make an equally amazing drink. Thank you!
Jun has a softer flavor than kombucha made from black tea. I love that I'm getting all the many benefits of green tea and honey in a very tasty fermented beverage. Your honey has a large impact on flavor. I most enjoy lighter honey in this ferment. I do a second ferment in sealed bottles with just a spot of organic concord grape juice added. This drink quenches in a very unique and lovely way. Yemoos has the best ferment starters I've ever used. Their quality is top notch!
