We all do it, you let your grains rest, they get weak, & sometimes they slowly die. If you've fermented long enough & live a busy life, you've seen this happen, we hate to admit it, but it's a reality I've come across countless times. Maybe I let them over ferment, maybe they randomly start to weaken? Life happens... but I tell you what, now I have a secret weapon to keeping my grains happy & healthy!
My new grains took some time to wake up, but now that they have the resulting kefir is smooth and delicious.
I decided to try this after initially being skeptical that it would really affect the kefir production. I have been using this for my last few batches of kefir, and it really works like it says. My kefir is thicker, almost yogurt consistency, and I actually ended up using this one day when I meant to use yogurt because it was the same consistency in the jar as my homemade L. Reuteri yogurt, and I had forgotten to label this batch of kefir. My grains have also been multiplying like crazy. They have been growing bigger than I’ve ever seen them get before and I had to cut them because they were huge. I really enjoy the results of using this booster and will be getting more in the future.
