A snug-fitting yet removable strainer screen with a plastic lid band for your jar. Switch it out with
other sizes and materials for custom, easy straining, clean-up and space-saving storage. Plastic
lid band eliminates rust problems and is more durable than the standard tin canning lid bands*.
Dishwasher safe (and boiling safe).

*Please be aware that standard tin canning lids eventually rust, due to exposure to moisture, acids,
and other metals (galvanic reaction). You may use our stainless steel screens with those bands,
but the tin band will leach rust onto the screen. We highly recommend our polypropylene or
silicone screens for use with a standard tin lid band (if you are not using the plastic band).

Lid size: Wide Mouth: diameter = approx. 3.5 inches. Compatible
with wide mouth lid canning jars.
Mesh size: Standard - good for all our cultures including small
grains. Not recommended for finest grains like Ginger Beer Plant.
Material: 100% Silicone
Our other non-metal alternative featuring our widest and most open hole. It is also
our gentlest option - with its soft smooth surface. You can even simply use this as a
gentle buffer-pairing this with another finer stainless steel or polypropylene screen
on top of it for finer straining results. Also withstands high heat if you prefer to boil to
clean. Best for straining, not as suitable for sprouting.
